"what is a good life?"

I’ve lived fearlessly in pursuit of my life’s purpose and the courage to live in alignment with it. I am a multi-passionate, sensitive, adventure-seeking, freedom-loving writer, literature activist, and entrepreneur. For years, I searched for clarity around who I am and what I do. I longed to define my personal mission. I looked for signs everywhere, in street corners, conversations, numbers, birds, and trees. I questioned every experience, especially the ones that cracked me open. I sought meaning in the highs and the lows, hoping each would lead me to the elusive “aha moment.”
Change became my constant. I lived between countries, worked in different industries, met people from all walks of life but beneath it all, one thing remained: writing. Writing was my anchor. It gave me clarity, helped me make sense of the chaos, and returned me to myself. And yet, for a long time, I kept it tucked away, assuming I couldn’t build a life around it.
After years of detours in fields unrelated to writing, I found myself returning to the same quiet ache this sense of emptiness, this unresolved longing for something more. I couldn’t understand what my soul was still searching for.
Then one day, while walking my dog Suzie, I stumbled across a rock painted blue with the words: “Live a good story.” I stopped. Something in me recognized it immediately, this was the answer I had been looking for. I’d been living a good story all along. Every experience, every twist in the plot, was part of it. And writing, my constant, was how I had been making sense of that story.
This moment shifted everything. I realized that I had been chasing the extraordinary and I’d found it. I built a life without borders. I moved from my safe hometown in Canada to Eastern Europe. I immersed myself in new cultures, made friends from across the globe, built a life with a partner who sees me fully, and created spaces where I can use my natural gifts to serve others. I followed inspiration instead of formulas. I leaned into uncertainty instead of running from it. And I wrote my way through every part of it. My success wasn’t defined by money, status, or how many goals I could check off. It was measured by something deeper: an unshakable trust in myself. A sense of peace that comes from knowing who I am and living my truth. I built a life I didn’t want to escape from, and I did it by following my story.
" Live a good story - this is what I had been doing all along"
But here’s the part that shook me the most: not everyone is living a good story. Some people don’t even realize they’re allowed to want one, they are trapped in a slumber, repeating the same mundane patterns over each day. It’s not a lack of resources that holds them back, it’s that they haven’t been taught to dream. They haven’t been shown how to reimagine their life, or how powerful a new narrative can be.
That’s where I come in.
I now understand my role, as a writer, a guide, a mirror. I have been given this gift of vision as a writer to help others write or re-write the story of their lives, so that they too could live a good story! Let me show you three examples of how simply rewriting the words we use can create a new narrative.

The Soul Dictionary was born from my travels and a two-year search for words that capture feelings too complex for language. It contains 200 words from cultures around the world & would became a companion for my soul & would forever change my life.
In the midst of a difficult decision—whether to give someone I loved, yet who had hurt me, another chance—I opened a random page in my journal. The word I landed on was Ilunga, from Tshiluba: “a person who forgives once, tolerates a second time, but never a third.” That word gave me the courage to leave a toxic relationship.
Shortly after, I met my soulmate, who was visiting my town for only two days. Before he left, I slipped this journal into his bag so that no matter where life took us, he would remember me. Despite living in different countries & speaking different languages, our paths crossed again. Our souls simply knew.
I want others to experience its power, so I’m offering a free digital copy. Print it, write in it, carry it with you.
